Journey of the Heart – Day 24

We are on round 3! For this round, the pronouns for the Guiding Thoughts change again; we will use the pronoun “we” or “us”, instead of “I” or “you”. When you listen to the Guiding Thoughts (or read them), unite yourself with me, and I will unite myself with you. We are the “we”!

Before you begin each day, take a moment and think about this from Day 08’s Guiding Thought: Love-as-light streams from my heart to your heart! We are connected by Love; we are One in Love. You may even choose to listen to this quickly—it is a thought that will turn your mind to the right attitude for the day’s endeavor.

Spend about 15-20 minutes with the guiding thought, and then let your heart speak through words, pictures, colors, shapes, whatever feels right. I’ve supplied a link below to an audio of me doing the guiding thought–use it if you like to create, while listening to it play on a loop (that’s what I do). Scroll to the bottom for my sharing…

Day 24 Guiding Thought

How can we deepen and expand our relationship with our beautiful, blissful hearts?

How can we give our love, our wisdom, our compassion more openly and freely?

How can we know our hearts of love, as ourselves?

You can download this and play it in a loop while you allow your heart to speak to you :).   I suggest Windows Media Player (I have not tested other players).

Today, I felt like I had an answer! When I turned on the Guiding Thought today and listened to it just once, I knew more-or-less what the picture was going to be. But Oh! How the picture turned out!

I knew there would be two people sitting on the floor, facing each other. I must confess, I started this picture as a practice picture—I have not kept it a secret that I am not an artist. I really do not know the techniques for drawing…and human figures are hard to draw…so when I started, I was just trying to figure out if I could even accomplish what I wanted to draw: two figures facing each other. The practice picture was turning out well, so I decided to keep it!

I am glad I did, because I think it is significant that the figures are “blank”…not filled in. It occurred to me when I was almost done (because I thought about coloring them in), that leaving them with only outlines represented de-emphasis. The humans are not what is important in this picture—or, rather, the human-nature of the figures is not important; the ego, the psyche, the mind are not important.

The love is important! The big heart in between the figures is what is feeding and connecting them. There is love from that heart “raining down” onto the figures, which vitalizes them and their efforts, giving them the love for connection with each other (the hearts streaming between them), connection with higher love (the hearts streaming up through their heads), and more love for whoever happens to walk by (the love going out from behind each of them).

And the thing they are sitting on? Well, I am not entirely sure. I thought the figures needed to be very substantially earth-bound, so the cube represents the Earth. But on another level, it represents human-activity—bringing the love into all of life’s experiences. In that way, it represents bringing Spirit (as the Spirit of Love) down to Earth, uniting Spirit and material, demonstrating love through action and behavior.
