Guiding Thought

The Divine Presence of Love is the most natural energy in the world and beyond. Through the wisdom of Love, I understand Love as true wealth and an expression of my true nature, to be cultivated in my consciousness, expressed, and shared. My love is infinite. My wealth is infinite. I realize this as my reality and circulate wealth with joy and gratitude.

My brain/mind is tired. When I was in college, sometimes I would have to read a book’s page over and over to really understand what the words were saying (I read mostly political philosophy). There was a discernible difference between just reading the words, understanding them, and really understanding them. Then, there were rare moments of absolute intellectual ecstasy, as though I shared the mind of the philosopher I was reading, and understood intimately, in the depths of my being, what I was reading.

Philosophy is like that for me. This is like that for me.

I’ve come to learn that reading and understanding become easier as I exercise my abilities. Reading the words (repeatedly) leads to understanding the words, leads to understanding deeply, leads to the rare moments of ecstatic, intimate understanding—the place just this side of Knowing.

Reading intense, foreign, complex ideas is hard work…it is. If you don’t keep up with me during these 40 days, stick with it, I know it’s hard and you may want to fall asleep or check out or give up. I know because I’ve been there. In fact, I am there today. I am just reading the words of the Guiding Thought. I think, “Yeah, yeah, I get it…blah, blah, blah…” and the words aren’t sinking in. I don’t really care, part of me thinks it’s all bunk. What am I doing anyway?

These are just symptoms of my mind being tired, of my mind resisting these new ideas. Today’s Guiding Thought is hard and may be a leap for a lot of people—it even is for me, in a way (and I wrote the thing!). Though there is absolutely nothing in the Guiding Thought that I can dispute—I think every word is spot on—it just still feels so foreign to equate love with wealth—Love as true wealth.

Modern humans are so conditioned to think of wealth as money, cars, status symbols, vacations, jewelry, penthouses, private jets, as all that stuff. And the guiding thought is saying, “Forget all that. True wealth is love… and it just happens to be your Divine Nature, so get over it and get with the program.” I am working out my own conditioning.

It takes work to overcome that conditioning. Work is hard, and sometimes I have to make myself do the work. For me it boils down to a simple question: What do I want? Sometimes I have to muddle through the muck of my mind to get to the answer, but the answer is always: I want love and to expand and to grow and learn forever this thing called love, which is infinite and divine, and my own true nature. What else is there?

What do you want? How hard are you willing to work for it?

If you want love and to expand and to grow and learn forever, but the work is too hard, make it easy…do what’s easy for you.  Just do something. Read the Guiding Thought every day…read it twice if you can. That’s enough, if it feels like work. Just do what you can and keep going.

I’ll be here…working with you.
