Guiding Thought

When you attune your mind to the Oneness that is All of Life, you understand your place in Wholeness. You are the very Presence of Life, and this Presence of Life is you! You are blessed through this understanding. In return you bless all you encounter.

“Of course fear may come up on the path, and in fact, it always does, particularly as one is asked to be more and more courageous with the energy of one’s soul and the paramatma (divine) energy within. If you choose to follow the dictates of fear, you will stay in states of illusion and delusion which is the essential nature of fear. If you move bravely forward into and through fear and allow love and oneness to be your true boss, then your whole reality begins to open up to being one of harmonious love, harmonious flow, and synchronistic beauty and peace.

Learn to love yourself and be honest about the process.”

-Babaji in Shiva Speaks by Rashmi Khilnani

Yesterday, I wrote about beginning to understand the cohesion of this Journey. Today this continues and I am seeing a broader cohesion of all the previous Journeys.

You may recall there was a lot of talk in many different communities, including some mass-media recognition, about an energy shift (aka “doomsday”, “end of world”) at the end of 2012. For some communities it was noted as the end of the Mayan calendar, the shift from Pisces to Aquarius, or the transition from the Kali Yuga to the Satya Yuga. I honestly didn’t pay that much attention to the “hype” about December of 2012, but I was aware of it and wondered what it all meant. Other than that, I pretty much just went about my business as usual. Of course, business as usual for me has always been seeking for and striving toward the Divine.

It was in January of 2013, I now note just after the “shift”, I really made a new solid commitment to God. For most of my life, I had told God, “I’m not ready”. “I want to be ready, but I’m not.” “I’ll keep working, but I’m not ready…yet.” In January 2013 I was walking my dog in the park by my house, talking to God. Finally, it was time. I said, from deep within and with full sincerity and commitment, “I’m ready”. I now of course wonder if the timing had anything to do with the energy shift. These Journeys began just a few months later.

Each Journey is “about” some aspect of what could be called personal improvement: purpose, healing, abundance, etc. But at the very core, these Journeys are about connecting with the Divine within, living as the Divine Self, integrating the Divine into all aspects of life, being the spiritual beings we know we are. Each journey connects with all the others through the core of Divine Being-Becoming.

Courage is so necessary to allowing, accepting, and fully embracing the Divine Center, so necessary for each and every Journey to stay the course and to continue choosing the Divine foremost. If you buy into the planetary energy shift, then we really are all in this together bringing the “higher”, “divine”, “soul” energies into this material reality and raising ourselves up to meet it, in every aspect of our lives. All the previous Journeys have been doing this, through the various aspects.

It requires courage in the material world because of the shifts occurring in economics, politics, and the environment. It requires courage in the mental arena because we must keep our minds free from the entanglements and chaos we see going on in the material world. It requires courage of spirit to be able to see with our spiritual eyes the “new” energy of love and oneness entering the world, and to remain steadfast despite what is going on around us and in our minds.

For the past 30 months, I’ve been “remaining steadfast”…and it’s been hard. Every Journey so far has had a lot of ups and downs, days of doubt, despair, skepticism, questioning. I’ve wondered what am I doing? Am I doing it right? Am I doing what I am supposed to be doing?

Every day of this Journey so far, I have felt encouraged and reassured. Even on the day my mind was adrift, there was an anchor. This morning before doing this writing, I “found” and read the excerpt from the book Shiva Speaks at the top. I am being encouraged to remain steadfast, to keep my mind pointed toward love-oneness, to stay the course despite “what comes up”, to continue returning to truth, to my Self, to God. I feel like this Journey is a gift…and am so thankful for being here. Thank you for being here.
