Guiding Thought

To heal and be healed is to be aware; to understand, and to Know Wholeness.  Thus, we seek Wholeness, Unity, Oneness within our own minds and hearts, and in all our actions and affairs. We focus on uniting the fragments within ourselves, so that we see only Oneness, which is the Truth of our Self. As we Know ourselves as the Oneness we are, this Truth reflects in the world around us, confirming what we Know through our experience and life activity.

In a way, this Guiding Thought gets at one of the paradoxes of healing. It says, “We focus on uniting the fragments within ourselves, so that we see only Oneness”, but actually there is only ever Oneness, and the “fragments” within are due only to our perception of them as fragments. Thus, fragments do not need to be “united”; rather it is our own perception—or our consciousness—that needs to be transformed so that we see the unity that is already there. The way to do this is by focusing our minds on transforming our perception of uniting the fragments.

Unity and Oneness already exist. If we don’t see it, it’s up to us to train our minds to see what is already there. In training our minds to see what is already there, we have to become aware of how our minds see things in the first place.

For periods of time, I have lived in this “between” space: becoming aware of what my mind perceives (fragments), in order to transform my perception to see what is already there—seeing both the fragment and the unity at the same time.

This can be a tough space to navigate. I have to hold fast to what I know is the Truth (Unity and Oneness), while recognizing the projection (fragments), while moving my mind to transform the projection into the Truth.

Recently, I’ve found this space difficult because there seems to be an increase in the quantity and intensity of the experiences which seem to be “testing” the strength of my mind and will to hold fast to Truth.

Let me just say: It is invariably important to hold fast and not give in! It can be difficult, when it feels like you are being pummeled with “terrible” situations, or loss, or other people’s projections…but HOLD FAST. Keep your mind in the Truth; do not give in to fear or its projections. Do not let others’ ideas about “how the world works” influence you—it is those very thoughts you are rising above. KNOW that only Unity and Love and ALL GOOD exist through you, as you—and keep training your mind to see yourself as you are in Truth.

I am telling you, as well as myself, this…though we already know it.
