Guiding Thought
Focus your mind and heart entirely on the Divine Presence you are. You think, you speak, and you act in accordance with Divine Will, which releases Divine Substance into all your activity and orders all your financial affairs.

Even though these Journeys ask you to think about Divine Presence in your life and affairs, and to cooperate with It mentally and spiritually in creating a life that corresponds to Divine Will, it is imperative that you also think about your material interactions, and act with integrity toward them. How do you approach your life, practically speaking? How do you approach your finances, practically speaking? Do you have an attitude of harmlessness, benefit, good will toward others, and/or harmony in creating wealth, in managing your finances? Are you willing to do what it takes to make money and manage money and wealth?
Releasing Divine Substance into your activity, allowing it to order your financial affairs, does not mean that you may take a “hands-off” approach, avoid responsibility, or treat your finances like someone else will “take care of it”.
It’s not enough to say to yourself, “Since I am Divine Presence, and Divine Presence flows through me, everything I need and want is supplied to me”…and then go out and run up a credit card to prove this to yourself, “getting” everything you need or want (who is the “you” which needs or wants in this way?).
I’ve found the nuanced lessons of abundance to be fine lines and hard lessons.
On the one hand, I want to affirm my trust in the Divine to supply me with everything I need and want.
On the other hand, I have an ego-personality which tells me that I need and want things that may not be in my Divine best-interest.
On the one hand, I want to believe and prove that I am infinite abundance (“…prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.” Malachi 3:10, KJV).
On the other hand, how do I do this when my bank account is low, and I have bills due, and I am not sure if I will have money through the end of the month?
On the one hand, I need to deny the false beliefs that I have about money, about God, about myself…
On the other hand, denying those beliefs means taking a leap of faith (sometimes).
I speak from experience. This is why abundance is particularly fascinating to study and practice from a spiritual standpoint. It has direct real world results and implications. What you do reflects in your experience in a very specific way—through money/job/work, etc. You can see it, you can monitor it, you can change it, and see the results.
In my current abundance journey-of-life, I feel like I have gone back to square one, but with so much more intelligence, insight, confidence, trust, and faith than ever before (after all, I’ve been working on abundance from a spiritual angle for over 20 years). Square one in my evolved mental state feels like an amazing opportunity. It feels like breaking new ground—which means there is an upheaval—but with the anticipation of something beautiful being built where the ground was churned.
I’ve gone back to basics in my financial management:
- Paying off consumer debt (say “no” to carrying unsecure balances that charge interest!)
- Making a monthly budget (say “no” to spending beyond my means!)
- Knowing my overall yearly cost of living (Plan! Know what to expect! Plan for the unexpected!)
- Turn off lights, unplug unnecessary appliances, lower my water heater temperature, not waste food, monitor my driving for conserving gas; little things add up in surprising ways!
- Plan inexpensive or free entertainment options (lots of walks in the park!)
At other times in my life, this behavior would have caused a lot of stress, worry, and distress. Actually, I should say, the conditions causing these behaviors were “the cause” of stress, worry, and distress. But now…it’s ok. I can do this. All is well and it’s getting better.
This is how an evolved mental state, focusing on Divine Supply, learning to trust, affirming reliance on Divine Source, makes a difference. I’ve been in these conditions before—but my mental attitude is much stronger, much more confident. I trust. I believe. All is well. And it’s getting better.
