Guiding Thought
How can I live apart from God? God is indivisible. God is my Source and the Life within me. My Oneness with All through God was established at my birth, at the creation of my being. The realization of this Truth is the foundation of my freedom.
Reflection
Why is this Guiding Thought important? Why is it important to remind myself that God is indivisible, and I live with and within God?
“I am not the ocean, but the ocean and I are One.”
The reason this is important is because there is still a part of me that wants to think/believe/act otherwise.
It’s the rebellious, independent, “I can do it without anyone’s help” ego.
You know the ego is basically crazy, right? All of Life is God, and the ego wants to resist. Imagine resisting God! Imagine resisting Life (yeah: it’s called “death”). That’s a little crazy, don’t you think? Yet the ego kicks and screams for it’s own life, which it thinks is apart from God.
In a lot of religious philosophies, there are depictions of God as a destroyer. When people cooperate with God, he does not act like a destroyer. It’s only when people give precedent to the ego who resists God, that God is a destroyer. He only destroys the ego and the silly things the ego makes.
This can be very very difficult for people who cling to their egos. But for people who willingly release all attachments to things that were not created with God’s perfection, it can be a beautiful transformation.
If you feel some chaos; if you feel like something within you is being demolished, destroyed; if you feel out of sorts, restless, lost, be glad and go with it!
Your old self is crumbling, your ego is transforming to become who you really are, who you are meant to be–your Divine Self. Resistance is futile; you and the ocean are already One.
