Guiding Thought

I extend the Love that I am, for that is all I truly am. As I learn to be aware, to understand, and to Know my own will as Love, and make choices according to that will, my life experiences become worthy of me. Expressing my Self that is wholly Love and United with All is the only choice that is worthwhile. It is the only thing that brings me satisfaction, the only choice that allows me to experience my Self—the Love that I am. My-your-our- freedom depends on my right choices, depends on my choosing what is worthy and what is not; it depends on me, depends on you, depends on us.

Reflection

This is what the word dialectic means to me: A person has thoughts, feelings, and beliefs, which guide and prompt action. Those actions become the material or physical representation of those thoughts, feelings, and beliefs, the “out-picturing”, if you will. Once out-pictured, the person experiences those thoughts, feelings, and beliefs objectively; in other words, they are not merely internal, where everything is experienced purely subjectively. They are externalized where the subject can experience his or her own subjectivity as an objective form. When experienced in this way, the subject–the source of the thoughts, feelings, and beliefs–gains a new viewpoint, a new perspective, that of observer as well as participant, subject and object together. From this new perspective and accompanying objectivity, the subject then has the opportunity to modify the thoughts, feelings, and beliefs. The interaction of subject with its own object brings about, or has the potential to bring about, change within the subject. That change is one of modifications to the original thoughts, feelings, and beliefs. The modified thoughts feelings, and beliefs then become out-pictured, and the process starts all over again.

In a dialectic, there is this constant interplay between subject and object, as well as a continuous leap-frog effect, as the subjective self leaps over its objective perspective to land at a new point, which will again be leapt-over.

If you understand this, your approach to the Journeys will be strengthened and enhanced. The Guiding Thoughts often refer to this interplay, this dialectic.

Today’s Guiding Thought brings this out very clearly: As I learn to be aware, to understand, and to Know my own will as Love, and make choices according to that will, my life experiences become worthy of me.  This sentence is totally about a dialectic.

It begins with learning. It’s not saying anyone has the answers or that there is any conclusion. It recognizes a process in which there are varying degrees of awareness, understanding, and knowledge.

Then it focuses on the specific thoughts, feelings, and beliefs regarding Love, and the will to Love.

Because it has already acknowledged that there is a learning process, it’s not making any judgment either positive or negative about those thoughts, feelings, and beliefs; it’s merely pointing out that there are choices that come with them.

Those choices then out-picture as experiences.

This then returns us to the idea of a learning process, because no experience is an end-point. As I learn, my experiences become worthy of me.

If you are able to do this dialectical process consciously (the whole point of doing these consciousness journeys!), the more adept you will become at recognizing which thoughts are out-picturing, and what modifications you can make for an experience that you want to choose.
