What is fulfillment but knowing your Self as an expression of Divine Love? Your Self wills to create! Your Self wills to share! Your Self wills to extend itself! Your fulfillment is creation; your joy is sharing; your peace is extension.

Before we get to this, let’s have a bit of a refresher about the process by which one’s consciousness is expanded (after all, that’s the point of these Journeys).

First comes awareness. Awareness means paying attention, and where you direct your attention. What do you notice? What do you want to notice? What are the thoughts you have that you can identify, that you can also notice influencing your attitudes, actions, emotions, and even other thoughts?

As you notice the interplay of your inner world (thoughts-emotions) with your outer world (actions, interactions, behaviors) understanding increases. Understanding takes awareness a step further. Understanding connects dots so that you have a more complete picture, (so to say). For example, in the context of this Journey, the Guiding Thoughts are focusing your awareness, bringing your attention to Fulfillment. As you contemplate the Guiding thought, you begin to look for fulfillment in your life. As you look for it and find it “out there” that sparks a new connection in your brain about how you experience fulfillment, allowing you to see it in that way easier in the future, and opens up your brain to be able to see other new connections.

Finally, the repetition of this process (awareness-noticing-understanding-experiencing) brings about certainty and confidence in the connection between your internal processes and your external experiences. When you are certain about something, you know it. (There is also a more mystical-metaphysical dimension to knowing that I won’t go into here, just note that what I’ve written is the “nutshell” version).

How does this apply to the Guiding Thought?

First, it brings awareness to a definition of fulfillment: Fulfillment: knowing your Self as an expression of Divine Love. And it does it in such a way that invites your opinion or thoughts (asking a question), but also sets it out as nearly inarguable. In other words–you have to come up with something better than the definition given (can you?).

Next, it describes some of the qualities of Divine Love, but does so in a way that applies to your Self. See that? It is Love that creates, and since your Self is an expression of Divine Love, your Self loves to create. It is Love that wills to share Itself, and since your Self is an expression of Divine Love, your Self wills to share. It is Love that wills to extend itself through you, and since your Self is an expression of Divine Love, your Self extends Divine Love.

This is why and how you are fulfilled: by living in the Reality of your Self, as Divine Love. Your fulfillment is creation; your joy is sharing; your peace is extension. Any time you live in the Reality of your Self, you experience fulfillment, joy, and peace.
