Guiding Thought

I now invite, welcome, and receive the effects of Divine Love, and I am Truly grateful. I experience Divine Mind as I experience these effects, and Divine Presence confirms itself in my life, activities, and affairs.

The only reason that you need to “invite, welcome, and receive the effects of Divine Love” is because you have forgotten that you are Divine Love.

Divine Love does not need to invite, welcome, or receive itself, now does it? How silly would that be? Divine Love remembers itself as One, always.

There are mechanisms place that create this gap between what You know and whether or not your mind/brain (memory) has access to it. One of these mechanisms is your analytic brain. This brain wants reasons, logic, and understanding. It wants proof. Evidence.

Truth does not require proof of itself. Divine Love does not require proof of itself. But what evidence can we show the analytic brain of Truth or of Divine Love?

This is why this Guiding thought uses these specific words, “”invite, welcome, and receive the effects of Divine Love”. These words engage the analytic brain and let it know, “hey! this is what is happening! I’m setting in motion a process to give you evidence of Divine Love! Be on the lookout!”

If you just try to insist to the analytic mind that Divine Mind exists, it will set its heels, cross its arms, and balk at every turn, insisting that there is nothing you can show it as proof. This sets up a dynamic in which the analytic brain does what it does–seek proof and deny anything that does not offer any.

But putting the analytic brain on notice to start looking out for the effects of Divine Mind…this sets up a completely different dynamic. This does not ask the analytic mind to discern whether or not Divine Mind exists; instead you enter the dynamic with the presumption that Divine Love does in fact exist. That “question” is removed completely from the equation. When you simply let analytic mind know that “this is happening, and this is what I want you to look for”, you enlist the aid of the analytic mind, getting its cooperation.

All of the sudden, it’s working on behalf of the task that you have given it, and it begins to fulfill your wishes. It looks for those experiences of  Divine Mind and these effects. Divine Presence is always confirming itself in my life, activities, and affairs. This exercise just gets the left-brain on board.
