Guiding Thought
Nature is beauty, beauty is nature. Nature brings me to inner beauty, to True Beauty, to Beauty of All. Nature is Peace, Interconnectedness, and awe-inspiring. I exist within and alongside this expansive, earth and all her creatures, at One with All of Life!
Reflection / Contemplation
Here we are with Nature is Beauty. I cannot argue with this. Some more of my favorite flowers are coming into bloom and they continue to shout a big “Yes”. It is these big yesses from plants which are awe-inspiring, especially with close-ups. I have had no recent hikes, or engagement with huge rocks or trees. It is the best I can offer today, the intimate exchange with a single flower, whose plant name I don’t even know. I love how the petals leap out from the center. The center invites me in. There is a whole Universe in this one flower.
I used to have this plant in my yard, one lone plant with several flowers. I had never seen it before until we moved into our house. I was stunned by its color, of course, and by its petals, spokes on a wheel. That plant had a short life though, cut down by a weed wacker I suspect. No, I did not replace it. There are a couple of homes on the route of my morning walk whose yards are home to this plant. I look for them each spring. It was in the purchase of a bunch of flowers from the Farmer’s Market last week that alerted me to its arrival. My walking partner and I were on the hunt. And sure enough, this week, here they are announcing their “yes”.
A common phrase is that our eyes are the windows to the soul. Today, I am using my eyes to access the soul of Nature and the Beauty there-in. Here’s a twist: I suspect that the lens works both ways. I wonder what this plant sees.
