Commitment and Dedication …Journey of Freedom 02.12.00

Today is the day to declare your commitment to the Journey, or to yourself, or to your practice. Commitment sets up the consistency of action. Where in your life would you benefit from greater consistency of action? Consistency of action increases reliability, dependability, trust, and confidence. Where in your life would you benefit from greater reliability, dependability, trust, and confidence?

The purpose of the dedication is to offer the Journey to others, in some capacity. This action moves the energy out of your small, personal circle, in order to give benefit to a wider circle: those who you dedicate the Journey to.

I am going to let Walt Whitman kick off this Journey, from Song of the Open Road (my dedication and commitment follows):

FROM this hour I ordain myself loos’d of limits and imaginary lines,
Going where I list, my own master, total and absolute,
Listening to others, and considering well what they say,
Pausing, searching, receiving, contemplating,
Gently, but with undeniable will, divesting myself of the holds that would hold me.

I inhale great draughts of space,
The east and the west are mine, and the north and the south are mine.

I am larger, better than I thought,
I did not know I held so much goodness.

All seems beautiful to me;
I can repeat over to men and women, You have done such good to me, I would do the same to you,

I will recruit for myself and you as I go;
I will scatter myself among men and women as I go;
I will toss the new gladness and roughness among them;
Whoever denies me, it shall not trouble me;
Whoever accepts me, he or she shall be blessed, and shall bless me.

I declare, with great enthusiasm and excitement, that on this Journey of Freedom, I am committed to increasing my awareness,  understanding, and True Knowledge of my Self–my Inner Divine Self, who I Truly AM. I am committed to being the Truth which sets “me” Free. It is my intention to maintain a constant awareness of True Freedom, which I experience through my consciousness– through my awareness. I commit to remembering as often as possible every day to be thankful for the Divine Grace of Source, which sustains me.

I am committed to contemplating the Guiding Thoughts for at least 5 minutes each day, and to writing my response.

I am also committed to continuing the work I began during Journey of Creation.

Further, I commit to being aware of aligning my ideas of Freedom with practical actions in work, relationships, emotional and mental health and expansion, in all aspects of my life.

I also commit to the practice of daily mantra in addition to this Journey.

I dedicate this Journey to the Oneness and Unity of All Creation, and to True, Pure Consciousness. May each step I take serve to uplift all of humanity; may my thoughts, words, feelings, and actions be a vehicle through which God may enter the world to love and serve all life.

Journey of Freedom (August 11 – October 01) is now available as a free book.
You no longer need to wait for the Guiding Thoughts to be posted here daily–you may move at your own pace. This link will take you to the document in Dropbox; you may download it from there.

I have provided the Journeys free of charge since 2013. If you would like to contribute to site maintenance and administration costs, I accept donations and gifts via PayPal: Thank you for the energy exchange!
