Allowing Sadness — 02.13.28

Guiding Thought

When we lift our vibration into Peace and Harmony, all are lifted with us. With this awareness comes great responsibility: we are Peace stewards of all humanity, of all Life. Eternal Peace is our natural state. Joyfully and easily we share It with all, and fulfill our Divine Purpose in the world.

A quote I ran into today from “Enlightened Consciousness” reads:

“You’re going to be fine, you always are.”

“Yes I will be. But please allow me a moment to express and display my sadness and discomfort. I know it will get better, but I need to also be honest and say my spirit is temporarily heavy and not have to hide that.”

My spirit is a little heavy this evening. I’ve been pen-pal with a person who underwent cancer surgery and treatment a couple of years ago. Originally, I was assigned to send her notes of encouragement while she underwent treatment. After her chemo and radiation treatments were completed, she “graduated” from the program that assigned me.  While my assignment was over, she and I agreed that we’d like to continue in a two-way snail mail friendship. Very recently tests show that her cancer has returned and she’s frightened. I’m a bit frightened for her. I can “joyfully and easily share my stewardship of all humanity” tomorrow. I can send her notes of encouragement, say prayers for her well-being, and do anything else I can think of to bolster her. Today though, or at least for the moment, I simply need to “GROK” her situation and this latest news. GROK, do you know that word? Comes from the science fiction classic Stranger in a Strange Land by Robert Heinlein. To me it means to understand something at more than a surface level; to internalize it and give it time to “perk” through your own unique perspective. Sometimes, to grok is a necessary part of the process that is our stewardship, an essential element of our Divine Purpose.

When we lift our vibration into Peace and Harmony, all are lifted with us. With this awareness comes greater responsibility…
I have been handed a gift, vicarious as it may be, a gift in relation to the guiding thoughts. My friend was able to attend “Forest Bathing” event in our nearby community. I really wanted to go, but couldn’t. She told me all about it on our walk this morning.
It turns out that the facilitator of this event is the same man who was my daughter’s 6th Grade teacher. It was this man who introduced these kids to meditation in nature, how to pay attention with all of their senses, to be quiet and receive. It was at a week-long camping trip all 6th graders take that he taught them how to leave no trace of human presence while out in nature. It was he who created a circle at the end of the year for students to say kind words to each other. If this isn’t lifting vibration, in a group setting, I don’t know what is.
My daughter is now in college and very much interested in her spiritual and in the environment as well and knows well and good how they are related. So, I know he had a part to play in her development.
I have kept my eyes and ears open to what this teacher has done since he left the school. He and his family lived out of the country for a while. He wanted to expose his children to another culture as well as another language. When he returned to the states, he taught at a nearby school.
And now he shows up offering Forest Bathing to the community. I hear he is a trainer at the very camp he took his 6th Grade students to all those years ago.
In truth I don’t know this man well, but what I see is a thread by which he is expressing his Divine Purpose. It appears that he is taking his responsibility very seriously.
With all the chaos swirling around, I am smiling and am lifted.

    Reflection Day 28 Steve

When we open our hearts our natural inborn energy flows through us. When we are open to our natural state of inborn Peace and harmony our energy also flows out to all those around us. We can be open to our hearts, or we can close our hearts to try and protect ourselves from hurt. The cost of closing our hearts is our Freedom. Not freedom from pain or hurt, but the freedom to experience all of Life, both the hurts and the hugs.

In order to be Peace stewards, we must be willing to open our hearts, to both the pains and pleasures of life. Only then will our energy flow freely and only then can we share it with all.

When we close down our hearts, it is like turning the lights off. We maybe have protected ourselves in some way, but we are living in darkness. The path to Peace requires bravery, a willingness to experience our lives moment by moment, even when it hurts. It requires not clinging to our treasures or our highest moments. Clinging to our treasured moments, or averting painful thoughts or experiences (likely triggered by something incomplete in our past) keeps us from living our lives to the fullest. It is only with open hearts that we can share our natural inborn Peace and harmony with all.
