Journey of the Heart, Day 09– 03.01.09

Guiding Thought:

Gratitude strikes my heart like a bell, resounding love through my being.

Gratitude opens my heart to Love’s purity, my very own essence!

I experience such deep gratitude for my heart, my essence, my ALL of Life!

Guiding Thought Audio (plays in a loop) can be found here: https://wp.me/p9wKWQ-1g
Listen to the Guiding Thought as you paint/draw/create and connect with your heart!

Remember: be with the Guiding Thought as you paint/draw/color. Your expression can be “scribbles”; the point is allowing your feeling nature to be attuned to the Guiding Thought while expressing.

If you are following along, you may have noticed that my tension between “the technique” and “freeform” hinges on results: When I do the technique, I get results that are closer to images that I have predetermined to paint; the flowers look how I want them to look (pretty much). When I stray from the technique (“freeform it”), I still get a nice picture, but it resembles less the picture that I wanted to paint. This tension then mimics, or represents, my inner-tension of wanting to create with heart (freeform), and then creating what I really want (“the picture in my head”, or the “most sophisticated/perfect outcome”).

Today felt like a bit of a breakthrough. 1) I used an actual picture to “model” how I wanted my flower to look (previously, I had just used the technique to make “those” types of flowers). 2) I used the technique, but differently (out to in, rather than in to out, and on petals different from “the technique”). 3) I used a combination of freeform and technique. The result was a picture that looks pretty close to the model.

On the left is the “model”; on the right is what I painted.
