Guiding Thought:

My heart-love establishes my inner-peace.

Solidly grounded in my own inner-peace, I approach all of life with love, compassion, and wisdom.

I live as my Self, shining with the beauty of the Love I AM.

Let the Beauty of what we love be what we do.

There are hundreds of ways to kneel kiss the ground.

“The only path to inner peace,

Is not through the mind,

But, through the heart.”

-Richard Kirsten-Daiensai

I thought it would be fitting for the closing picture of this journey to include a painting by the Creator/God/the All in One. A summer sunset out our window.

What a journey this has been, and will continue to be. My heart has been opened, creative expressions have been shared, and I am the better for it. I am part of the One, and so, in some small ways, perhaps the world is better off, for our embarking on this journey of the heart. Love I AM, and Love WE ARE.

While on this Journey, I have dabbled in a variety of art forms that are new to me. One that is perhaps more craft than art is called diamond painting. Like a paint-by-number or a cross-stitched embroidery project, a pattern is provided and color placement is specific. Two of the diamond paintings I did were intended as gifts for others. While I know they will be much appreciated by the recipients, the crafting of them was a huge gift to myself. One in particular took many, many hours and many more carefully placed little “diamonds” than I had anticipated. Therefore, I spent much time hanging out with and contemplating an elephant-headed Hindu deity named Ganesh. Interestingly, Ganesh is known for removing obstacles. While I don’t consider myself to be a Hindu, clearly a major obstacle was removed for me while working on the Ganesh image and while walking the path of this Journey. I am no longer inhibiting the revelation of the artist within. My heart is much more open to free expression in this realm. As the first Guiding Thought in this Journey proclaims, “I am a willing and joyful student”!  An additional diamond image I completed is of Buddha. Gautama Buddha was a spiritual teacher in India, not actually considered to be a god, he was a spiritual teacher and a person who attained Bodhi, or wisdom. Through the Buddha’s teachings, I am (perhaps) learning to loosen attachment to false beliefs such as “I can’t do art”. Living in the Seattle area, in year past I have sometimes allowed myself to experience the winter blues, locally known as SAD (seasonal affective disorder).  During several winters I actually found it was necessary to fly off to Arizona, California, or Hawaii for a few days of sunshine. It was either that or hibernate under a blanket for a couple months. Not so this year. Frankly, I don’t recall EVER having such a happy, joyful attitude this time of year. I credit the Journey of the Heart – and art for the difference!   If you’re lurking here, or sitting on the fence about stepping into the next Journey, the Journey of Purpose, I encourage you to jump in with both feet. Publically or privately, I know from my own experience that if you participate fully you’ll have a life-enhancing Journey. I extend my deepest gratitude to all beings for helping me to see that it might actually be true that I live as myself and shine with the beauty I am.

“May the Long Time Sun Shine Upon you

All love surround you

And the pure light within you

Guide your way on.

Sat Nam”

Annakje Grace

Annakje has been following the Journey, while doing her own Journey.  She says,

“I enjoyed following along and reading the entries along with seeing the art produced. I regularly received a jolt of joy when I saw susanwithpearls pop up in my news feed on face book and was excited to click the link. Other times there was an aversion bc of whatever state I was in, which allowed me to see that shimpa and embrace my aversion by clicking on the link 😁

I am an artist and have not been making [much] art recently. Following the Heart Journey has definitely opened up production… I have my paints out now and set up. I know I can use them and I do more often now…so thank you.  I will be a more avid follower bc of this following. Please feel free to share my pictures if you wish to do so.”
