Again and Again –Journey of Courage 02.09.11

Guiding Thought

Life is a process of Self-discovery. Embrace All of Life, for All of Life is who you are! As you embrace Life as your Self, you come to understand Life as yourself. Life embraces you gently and joyfully in return.

Contemplation / Reflection

Several years ago I participated in a number of “personal growth” trainings and workshops. At the time, after years involved in these activities, I sincerely thought, “I got it”. After all, I’d walked on fire, broken a board with one stroke of my hand, spent days in silent retreat, laughed, cried, shouted out any anger within and learned to love the least attractive (to me) person in the group, and to love myself.  What more was there?  I’d done it! Ah, the ego speaks! It wasn’t long before I learned the lesson of this Guiding Thought, Life is a PROCESS of Self-discovery. You don’t get to do it just once and be done with it.  Because the only thing permanent is change, that means I also change, day-to-day or minute-by-minute. And that change is what All of Life is, everything around me, and me. To me, it’s like the idea of “enlightenment”. Maybe I’m not really “there” at all, but it seems to me that even an enlightened state is a process. Does it happen just once and last a life-time? Or does it happen again and again, what it means to be enlightened changing from moment to moment just like everything else in life? Now there’s another question I don’t truly have an answer to. So I continue to embrace Life’s process of Self-discovery, like taking this Journey of Courage. Today, it truly is a joyful journey, Life embracing me joyfully and lovingly. If I continue to rejoice in the ups and downs, the struggles and frustrations, I learn (again and again) to love the Journey itself.

A Very High State of Being–Journey of Courage 02.09.10

Guiding Thought

I am aware, I allow, and I accept What Is. I go within to my silent Self which Knows and follow my Inner Wisdom to Truth. I practice Divine Balance in thought, word and action. I Am! I Am my Self! I Am my self of Love.

Contemplation / Reflection

Allowing What Is, is sometimes a very difficult thing for me. If the only thing permanent is change, why can’t I focus my Self of Love on changing the things I don’t “like”? Then I remind myself that you first have to love, or at least accept, What Is.  Yes, I can accept or allow What Is, sometimes reluctantly.  But if things truly are What Is, I may as well accept or allow. In the moment, What Is may be an illness, lack of financial resources, high levels of homelessness, political circumstances that I’d rather be Is Not.  What Is, is in the now, in this moment. And by the time I write this, it’s already What Was.  Hmmm, gotta love that!! Well, yes, gotta love what is, as well as what is not.  I don’t really understand what I’m experiencing around this Guiding Thought. One wisdom teacher in my life, though, said understanding is the “booby prize” and “confusion is a very high state of being”. With this one, I’m choosing to accept What Is, that I don’t have all the answers and it’s okay to allow myself to live in the open question. As for this response to Day 10, it is what it is!

Exercise in Compassion –Journey of Courage 02.09.06

Guiding Thought

I am responsible! I am able to respond with and through conscious awareness of my inner-centered, silent Knowingness. I practice Knowingness moment by moment. Anchored in my inner-harmony, I have the courage to face my own thoughts and actions.

Contemplation / Reflection

In considering this Guiding Thought, I was taken back to a class I was in awhile ago. We were training to be “peer counselors” to coworkers who might experience some kind of on-the-job trauma.  In one exercise, we were each asked to share a trauma we had faced.  It was a very intimate experience. Everyone was in tears by the end of the exercise. People had suffered the loss a loved one, (child, spouse, parent, sibling, precious friend or family member), experienced a heart-breaking divorce, lost their home, faced life-threatening illness, had a job terminated unexpectedly, been robbed, shot, beaten and more.  It was a first-hand demonstration of the fact that we have no idea what hardships another has faced. But face them, EVERYONE has.  As my father would say, “everyone has their own sack of rocks to carry”.  I am responsible for remembering this.  I am responsible for practicing Knowingness moment by moment.  I am responsible, through that Knowingness, for facing my own thought, my own misguided belief that I know ANYTHING at all about what someone else has been through, what they’re going through, what they might want or need from me.  I am responsible for asking what they might want from me, and for providing it to whatever level I’m able, with love and without judgment.

“Too” –Journey of Courage 02.09.02

Guiding Thought

When I attune my mind to the Oneness that is All of Life, I understand my place in Wholeness. I am the very Presence of Life and this Presence of Life is me. I am blessed through this understanding. In return I bless all I encounter.

Contemplation / Reflection

When I attempt to attune my mind to the Oneness that is all life, I hear my outer voice saying I am too – too tired, too selfish, too separate, too individual, too self-centered, too lazy, too insignificant, too unpracticed, too undisciplined.  When I momentarily glimpse this attunement, I am not too much of anything.  I am whole, how can that be TOO anything.  When I have the courage to be not too, I can see that you, too, are whole!  I imagine you, anyone, has their own list of TOO. If I can see past my judgments of myself, if I have the courage to do that, I’m perhaps less likely to be judging you. May we all be blessed with the vision to see our wholeness, our oneness, and therefore the wholeness and oneness of each other.  NAMASTE.

Commitment and Dedication –Journey of Courage 2.9.0

COMMITMENT

I am committed to exploring the fears within that may arise in the course of this Journey of Courage, to contemplate those fears and to call upon my higher, Divine Self to better understand, accept and transform those fears. I am committed to reading the Guiding Thought each day for the next 40 days. On those days when I may be traveling or away from home, I commit to engaging with the Guiding Thought in advance, or while away, in order to provide a public response to that Guiding Thought on a daily basis.  I will read the Thought, reflect on it, and record the thoughts and reflections that arise on a daily basis.

DEDICATION

I dedicate any merit that may arise from my contemplation of the daily Guiding Thoughts to the highest good of ALL BEINGS, myself included.

And so it is.

The World is Upside Down. –Gratitude 2.8.31

Welcome to day 31 and the final round! I’ve been reading a lot of different things on this Journey: The Ra MaterialDancing with Shiva, Hinduism Basics – Traditional Overview- The Most Organized Eternal Way Of Life, and now I am reading the Saint Germain I AM Discourses. Maybe a little all over the place, ya think?

If you believe (or know) that every outer thing is a reflection of your inner self, and/or your inner state, then this Journey has also been reflecting a little all over the place. We are just now beginning Round 4, which of course is 10 days long, but it’s supposed to end on Thursday this week. Have I really missed that many days this Journey?

I guess I have. No rest during the “rest period” on this Journey. Must….complete…. the Journey…..

For this round, we return to “I” as the subject of the Guiding Thought. The idea is that after going through the rounds of “you” and “we”, you will have a different understanding of “I” that takes into account what you have learned through “you” and “we”.

Thanks for sticking with me. I am glad you are here!

Guiding Thought

I remember my Self and recognize the Love within me, the Love I Am. I see this Love as all I am and all there is, the reality of me, the reality of you, and the reality that is the Life of All. I honor this Love and this Life, and offer my gratitude for Its Being. What Joy there is in Being!

Reflection / Contemplation

Being Love is the most natural thing in the world.
As the most natural thing, it is easy…effortless!
Who needs to think about something, when it’s just the way it is?

Do birds think about flying?
Do cats think about playing?
Do you think about laughing when you hear something funny?

But…you may say…being Love is not easy. If it were easy, I would always be in Love, always be in Peace, always be happy…and I am far from all those things.

Yes. The world is upside down.
We believe things about ourselves that are not true.
We believe we have been wronged…
We believe we are victims…
We believe we have no control…
We believe in our own pain and suffering.

While we may experience the world through these lenses, they are not the Truth of who we are. But we believe these lies. And so, we live the lies.

Believing the lies, we disbelieve the Truth. We deny the Truth, because we’ve made the lies our home, our comfort, our identity.

So, yes. Until you believe the Truth, and deny the Lies, Being Love feels hard. But it’s not the Being Love that is hard. Letting go of the lies is what is hard, we just blame Love, so we can continue to hold on to the lies. The world is updisedown.

The solution?

Focus on the Truth. Attend to Love. Take time each day to invite, accept, and receive Love. Deny the lies you tell yourself. If you feel a lie whispering or shouting to you, think Love. Blast that lie with Love, and transform it with Divine Perfection to Divine Perfection. For every lie, is simply a distortion of the Truth waiting to return Home to Love.

Once you become proficient at invoking love daily, hourly, you will see: it’s the easiest, most natural, effortless thing in the world.

Implement THIS. –Gratitude 2.8.28

The last time I did this Journey was 2 years ago. On this day (day 28), the very first thing on the page–even before the graphic–is this:

“You don’t make progress standing on the sidelines, whimpering and complaining. You make progress by implementing ideas”.  Shirley Chisholm

Amen, Shirley Chisolm! Just yesterday I made the same call to all y’all–and to myself! I guess I am glad I have a consistent message 😉

Guiding Thought

We seek only to Love in Unity. Love is Pure in Oneness. We Love All, including ourselves, in Oneness, that we may Know gratitude as the result of Being Whole in Love.

Reflection / Contemplation

Remember: You. Are. Love. Implement that .

Anything less than Love is a betrayal of yourself, your Self. Diminish not your Self, by being less than You ARE.

This >less than< is not just your natural identity.

It is your responsibility, honor, and obligation, to be the Love you Are.

“But that sounds so boring, so >ugh< tedious, so responsible. I don’t waaaant to be so bogged down, tethered to obligation. The next thing is you’re going to say it’s my duty >bleck<“.

I hear you. Really I do.

But your definitions are upside down if you think that living as your Divine Self could ever, in any way be tedious, boring, or could bog you down. And, I get that you’re not there yet–well…I’m not there yet. So, yes, sometimes I feel how tedious it is, how hard it is to be spiritually responsible–especially in a world where so many people are spiritually-ethically-humanly irresponsible. I mean, just yesterday I was all in the “how hard this is” and “how we have to push through” mode. I get it.

But I also know: Being your Self is your Joy. Fulfilling your Divine Purpose is a gift. Following the Higher Will Within leads you on a care-free path.

How do we implement Being the Love we Are, when we are not there yet, when it still feels tedious, with only moments of glimmering joy, beautiful harmony, and peaceful flow?

I can only answer for myself, but I hope that this might resonate with you.

First, I keep the faith. There is a higher purpose. Love and Light is my/your/our reality. We are fulfilling something Divine and Beautiful right here, right now, together.

Second, I work at acceptance and forgiveness. That is: acceptance of my True, God reality, and forgiveness of myself when as I experience/create anything that is not up to the standard of my True, God reality. In other words: I keep my sight on the highest, divine ideal, and forgive myself when I have mis-created. This is not about accepting miscreations. You deserve All Good, All God–all Love, all Health, all Prosperity, All Harmony…If you are not experiencing those things, then you are miscreating. The more you accept your miscreations, the more strength they have. Deny your miscreations. Accept only your True God reality. But forgive yourself along the way 😉

Third, I take time to meditate, and focus on that True God reality. More than these Journeys, I spend time in meditation and prayer. Stay focused. Keep feeding yourself the Truth. Loosen the knots in your mind that bind your thoughts to the lower self, on the lower aspects of existence. Keep your mind on the highest thought you can, as often as you can, every moment. What is that thought for you? For me, it varies. Most often, it is “Om Namah Shivaya”, but sometimes it is, “I love you, God” and sometimes it is, “I trust you, God”, and sometimes it is “Thy will be done”. Keep several High thoughts in your arsenal. Pull them out regularly. Implement them. That means: just think those thoughts. You control your mind. Choose your thoughts. Keep those thoughts running through your mind, over and over and over. (discipline. yes.)

Peace and love to you. With all my heart.
