Compliment? Or Offense? –Journey of Courage 02.09.12

Guiding Thought

When you attune your mind to the Oneness that is All of Life, you understand your place in Wholeness. You are the very Presence of Life, and this Presence of Life is you! You are blessed through this understanding. In return you bless all you encounter.

Contemplation / Reflection

I do my best to stay tuned to my place in Wholeness. Every once in a while, I get knocked upside the head when my ego sneaks out in ways I don’t even see.  Recently I thought I was paying a friend a compliment, a blessed comparison with my mother who is no longer on the planet.  Imagine my surprise when, shortly after, I received a message from this friend letting me know she was offended by what I’d said.  What she heard was very different than the message I thought I was communicating. When I “bless all I encounter”, I need to be certain I’m actually fully understanding my role in and as “the Presence of Life”. Fortunately, I am blessed with friends who will communicate their feelings of hurt or offense, so that we can clarify intent and retain the deeply loving and trusting relationships we share.  But, what about those others with whom I don’t share this same level of intimacy and clear communication? How many times in this life have I unwittingly said the wrong thing, or failed to say the right thing? How many times have I, without my knowledge, failed to acknowledge a kind act done toward me, or a kind word said?  I’ll never know the answer to that. The very best I can do is stay present and “stay tuned”.

Let There Be Light! –Journey of Courage 02.09.09

Guiding Thought

Contemplation / Reflection

Lightness! I love it! I live where winters are mostly grey and wet and days are short. When the sun shines, like today, I rejoice in the sunlight, and I feel lighter. This seems to be true for most of the people who live here.  I consider myself a being of light and often wonder that I have landed in this environment for so many years.  So when the change to autumn and winter darkness comes, I kind of hibernate a bit. Each year it gets easier to “sit peacefully in a still place of nothingness” as life moves around me.  I also find it easier to practice “mindfulness” in the peacefulness of my home.  I’ve had a tendency to “multi task”, doing several things simultaneously. In the quiet peace, I’m much more able to be mindful of one thing at a time. When I eat, I try to savor the food and not just chew it down while I focus on laundry or a phone chat. When I practice artful projects, they turn out much better if I’m in the stillness of the project in my hands.  I’m certainly not perfect at this peaceful still place of nothingness, but that’s why it’s called “practice”!

Truth and Free Will. –Gratitude 2.8.32

Guiding Thought

I lift my mind and heart to the Truth of Being, to all that Is, to All I Am. I accept my Self in Truth and offer my Self to All in gratitude for Its Being.

Reflection / Contemplation

Truth does not care if you believe in it or not. Truth does not try to convince; it does not manipulate, or connive.

Each of us was given the gift of Free Will at the moment we were first breathed forth. With that Free Will, we can choose Truth, or not. And Truth does not try to persuade us either way. It allows us our Free Will, and waits.

In the meantime, also at the time of our inception, we were given the creative faculties of thought and feeling. As we walk through this relative reality, seeing disparities, feeling strong emotions, thinking that what we think or feel is right, we are using our Free Will to create through those perceptions, emotions, and thoughts.

But perceptions, emotions, and thoughts which are not informed by Truth bring about (or create) effects disconnected from Truth. Then we chase those erroneous effects. Imagine a game of telephone through all of your creations: you create a relationship, full of opinions, effects, results, then you look at those opinions, effects, and results and create new opinions, effects, and results (or strengthen those you have), which just keep creating situations that are only tethered to a situation which was previously based on an erroneous perception, emotion, or thought.

This is how we keep ourselves bound to our lives, our mental attitudes, and our convictions. (more like running in circles).

We have misinformed ourselves, and we believe our own misinformation. We are not the victims of circumstance, we are the creators of circumstance.

Being a creator of circumstance is why we are here. With our Free Will, we can choose to create with the Light of Truth. Light is infinitely more powerful than any fear-based, fragmented efforts or misinformation.

When we focus our attention on the surfacing chaos, it is easy to feel discouraged and overwhelmed, until we realize that we have done this. This is my doing. This is my responsibility.

How do I undo what I have done? How do I undo the chaos in my life? How do I create anew?

Lift your mind and heart to the Truth of Being, to all that Is, to All You Are. Accept your Self in Truth and offer your Self to All in gratitude for Being.

You are the Way, the Truth, and the Life.  Focus your attention on the the Truth which resides in your Heart of hearts.

You are the Divine Light of the World. Divine Light of Truth is ALWAYS Victorious and WE are that Light.

Implement THIS. –Gratitude 2.8.28

The last time I did this Journey was 2 years ago. On this day (day 28), the very first thing on the page–even before the graphic–is this:

“You don’t make progress standing on the sidelines, whimpering and complaining. You make progress by implementing ideas”.  Shirley Chisholm

Amen, Shirley Chisolm! Just yesterday I made the same call to all y’all–and to myself! I guess I am glad I have a consistent message 😉

Guiding Thought

We seek only to Love in Unity. Love is Pure in Oneness. We Love All, including ourselves, in Oneness, that we may Know gratitude as the result of Being Whole in Love.

Reflection / Contemplation

Remember: You. Are. Love. Implement that .

Anything less than Love is a betrayal of yourself, your Self. Diminish not your Self, by being less than You ARE.

This >less than< is not just your natural identity.

It is your responsibility, honor, and obligation, to be the Love you Are.

“But that sounds so boring, so >ugh< tedious, so responsible. I don’t waaaant to be so bogged down, tethered to obligation. The next thing is you’re going to say it’s my duty >bleck<“.

I hear you. Really I do.

But your definitions are upside down if you think that living as your Divine Self could ever, in any way be tedious, boring, or could bog you down. And, I get that you’re not there yet–well…I’m not there yet. So, yes, sometimes I feel how tedious it is, how hard it is to be spiritually responsible–especially in a world where so many people are spiritually-ethically-humanly irresponsible. I mean, just yesterday I was all in the “how hard this is” and “how we have to push through” mode. I get it.

But I also know: Being your Self is your Joy. Fulfilling your Divine Purpose is a gift. Following the Higher Will Within leads you on a care-free path.

How do we implement Being the Love we Are, when we are not there yet, when it still feels tedious, with only moments of glimmering joy, beautiful harmony, and peaceful flow?

I can only answer for myself, but I hope that this might resonate with you.

First, I keep the faith. There is a higher purpose. Love and Light is my/your/our reality. We are fulfilling something Divine and Beautiful right here, right now, together.

Second, I work at acceptance and forgiveness. That is: acceptance of my True, God reality, and forgiveness of myself when as I experience/create anything that is not up to the standard of my True, God reality. In other words: I keep my sight on the highest, divine ideal, and forgive myself when I have mis-created. This is not about accepting miscreations. You deserve All Good, All God–all Love, all Health, all Prosperity, All Harmony…If you are not experiencing those things, then you are miscreating. The more you accept your miscreations, the more strength they have. Deny your miscreations. Accept only your True God reality. But forgive yourself along the way 😉

Third, I take time to meditate, and focus on that True God reality. More than these Journeys, I spend time in meditation and prayer. Stay focused. Keep feeding yourself the Truth. Loosen the knots in your mind that bind your thoughts to the lower self, on the lower aspects of existence. Keep your mind on the highest thought you can, as often as you can, every moment. What is that thought for you? For me, it varies. Most often, it is “Om Namah Shivaya”, but sometimes it is, “I love you, God” and sometimes it is, “I trust you, God”, and sometimes it is “Thy will be done”. Keep several High thoughts in your arsenal. Pull them out regularly. Implement them. That means: just think those thoughts. You control your mind. Choose your thoughts. Keep those thoughts running through your mind, over and over and over. (discipline. yes.)

Peace and love to you. With all my heart.

Beautiful Challenge –Gratitude 2.8.26

Guiding Thought

When we look within and see the radiance of Love, we remember our wholeness. We are wholly loving and wholly lovable. In the purity of Love lies peace, which we share with all in gratitude.

Reflection / Contemplation

Waking up is happening now! People everywhere are remembering who they are and why they are here. They are opening their hearts, and lifting their minds to the Light and Love that they are. Consciousness is expanding!

When our consciousness is raised and we increase Love and Light in our lives, we begin to see with new eyes and hear with new ears. We see and experience Oneness, Unity, Harmony, and understand that all life is connected. We are One.

Often, from our newly awakened state of consciousness, our reflex response is to resist so-called negative situations and behavior patterns, like poverty, greed, corruption, violence, abuse of power, oppression, hatred, selfishness, prejudice, pollution, disease, or ignorance. This causes us to set ourselves against the people involved–forgetting that we are One, and labeling “us” and “them”.

When we resist them, they resist us. But since we are One, it is merely the self resisting another self; in our ignorance of the truth, our resistance to unity creates the appearance of further separation. Arguments cannot be “won”. Coercion does not change a person or a situation. Convincing or persuading has no real lasting effect; it is simply a judgement that someone else’s thinking or feeling is flawed or wrong. But, guess what!? “They” think the exact same thing about “us”.

I know what I know. I know what I don’t know. But I also don’t know what I don’t know.

This is why it’s imperative to expand and raise my consciousness into Love, so that even when I don’t know, I can think, speak, and act with Love and kindness. I can treat others with respect and dignity; I can honor all of life and all of Life’s expressions. When I shift my consciousness, I allow myself to perceive a greater Truth, a Truth of Unity and Oneness, and to experience this Oneness of Life at a deeper level.

Here is an example:

Imagine a deaf and blind person trying to convince someone who can see and hear that there is no such thing as color or music. The person who can see and hear, knows clearly that there is color and music, but can also understand why a deaf and blind person would think there is not color and music, and be able to have compassion for that point of view, responding with patience and understanding. A person with a consciousness of Love, Oneness, and Unity, is like that person who can see and hear music, understanding the perspective of someone who experiences separation, yet responding with love and compassion.

However, we do not always know how or what people perceive. We do not know their level of consciousness, nor can we judge where they are in their own ascension process. Everyone is unique, and everyone came here with their own lessons to learn, as well as their own contribution to make.

People are where they are, they are who they are, and everyone (and I mean everyone) is doing the best that they can. We cannot make the mistake of assuming that people should know more than they do or that they should understand more than they are capable of understanding. When we expect more from people than they are capable of, we are generally disappointed and frustrated with their actions or their perception of things… which throws us right back into a separation “us” versus “them” mentality.

We are experiencing a beautiful, challenging time! We are healing ourselves, each other, and the planet! Everything that is coming to the surface as “negative” or as polarized “against” us, is doing so in order to be healed and transformed.  It is time to meet ourselves head on, and love each other into light. Regardless of so-called differences, regardless of our so-called oppositions, irrespective of what is “out there” that we are resisting…it is there for us to become more than who and what we are right now. How we meet each situation: with resistance, or with love and compassion, will determine the next step of our ascension, or whether we remain stuck.

Remember: Love is always the answer. Love is always the response. Love is always the lesson.
Any question I ask…the answer is Love.
“What do I do”? …the answer is Love. And I don’t mean this abstractly. I mean this literally. Open your heart, and Love.
“What am I learning”? ….the answer is always Love.

Journey of Gratitude–Commitment (2.8.00)

Today is the second preparation day. Yesterday, you thought a bit about why you care about gratitude, what it means to you, why you would like to spend 40 days engaging with it, and perhaps you even wrote about what you would like to accomplish.

Today is the day you commit. This is where you tell the universe that you are serious. You are serious about what it takes to integrate higher levels of love, joy, peace, and good will into your life–through gratitude. You are serious about change, about becoming, about evolving into your best/highest self.

It is less important what words you use, how long you spend thinking about it, or how much you write.

It is more important to feel it, to go within to your own motivation, your own initiative, and claim the vision that you have for yourself of who you truly are, who you are remembering, who you are becoming. This is yours. Write your truth of commitment to your Self.

Commitment

I declare, with great enthusiasm, excitement, and absolute joy of life, that I am committed to letting Life know how grateful I am for It. I commit to increasing my awareness and understanding of the presence of Life, which is already mine, and to expand my presence of Life through gratitude for It! It is my intention to maintain a constant awareness of the Life that animates me, which I experience through my consciousness– through my awareness. I commit to remembering as often as possible every day to be thankful for the Divine Grace that sustains me.

I am committed to contemplating the Guiding Thoughts for at least 5 minutes each day, and to writing my response.

Dedication

I dedicate this Journey to Oneness and the Unity of All Life. May each step I take serve to uplift all of humanity; may my thoughts, words, feelings, and actions be a vehicle through which Divine Grace may enter the world to love and serve all life.

Journey of Gratitude– Why? (2.8.0)

Greetings in Love and Light! Welcome to a new year.

Today begins Journey of Gratitude. Let’s go! I’m glad you’re here. I’m glad I’m here. I am already so thankful to be here, with you now, doing this work.

Think and write about why you would like to spend 40 days thinking about, contemplating, and practicing gratitute. Feel free to share with me privately by email, or publicly below.

Why

Back in December, during Journey of Rest, I was having intense waves of gratitude almost daily. I would think about my life, about the support and love that I have, about my relationship with the Great Mystery; I thought about Jesus and what He brought into the world; I thought about being a drop in an infinite ocean, aware of itself, of the ocean, and of its relationship with all the other drops; I would think about how beautiful this life is, the inter-connectivity of everything, and how amazing and wondrous it all is,  and I would (sometimes) just weep with love and joy at how thankful I felt.

At that time, I recognized how gratitude was a doorway for Love. If I didn’t feel Love, I could focus on feeling thankful, and then Love was a breath away.

I thought, “I got this. Journey of Gratitude is going to be so easy. Do I even need a Journey of Gratitude? I just need to stay in this space forever!”

But you know, “this too shall pass”. I usually say that when something is a struggle, but really, it’s true otherwise, as all things are impermanent and changing (until we realize and live our True, eternal selves, anyway).

For the life of me, I have not been able to re-capture that intense feeling of gratitude since around December 23 (right before Christmas). I’m not saying that I haven’t felt thankful. But there’s a difference in mental-practices of gratitude and recognizing things to be thankful for, and the kind of gratitude that overwhelms with emotions of love and joy so much that tears flow.

I think my experiences in December (pre-December 23) were the teaser. “You see? This is what is possible. Are you there yet? No? Keep going.”

So here I am, an ideal in mind as a carrot on a stick, slogging toward it.

I knew I was going to have to write Why today, and I’ve been thinking and thinking about where I’m at with this, juxtaposing my recent loving/joyful gratitude experiences with how I actually feel right here right now.

It would be a cop out to say simply, “I want to work toward that (the ideal, mindlessly following a carrot on a stick). Yeah. It is that, but it’s also more than that.

I want to open my heart to expand in giving and receiving more love.
And gratitude does that.

I want to be of True Service–recognizing and living in the space of knowing what an honor (and responsibility!) it is to serve All in Love.
And gratitude does that.

I want to serve joyfully, inexhaustibly, according to my True, Highest Purpose.
And gratitude does that.

I want to remember my commitment–remember what I really want–which is to continue reaching every day, every hour, every minute with 100% of my being toward Infinite Love and Light.
And…I’m not sure if gratitude does that, but I’m going to treat this like an experiment to find out.

#

Tomorrow is the commitment and dedication! Then we start the 40-days of contemplation. Remember with this Journey  to get out your crayons, markers, pencils, and get ready to draw/create. Gratitude is especially pre-disposed toward the right/creative/aesthetic brain.
