Now

What is a “now page”?

Most websites have a link that says “about”. It goes to a page that tells you something about the background of this person or business. For short, people just call it an “about page”.

Most websites have a link that says “contact”. It goes to a page that tells you how to contact this person or business. For short, people just call it a “contact page”.

So a website with a link that says “now” goes to a page that tells you what this person is focused on at this point in their life. For short, we call it a “now page”.

This isn’t for marketing or attention. It will not benefit you in any business way.

It’s useful for the same reason an “about” page is useful on your site: because people on your site want to know more about you.

What I’m doing now

(updated September 4, 2016)

I’m home, on the east coast. Fall is in the air. These things are where most of my focus currently lies:

Beautifying my yard, while contributing to nature: I am researching plants and landscaping that will feed the birds in my yard naturally. Elderberry, zinnias, and millet are in my head for planting in the spring.

Health: I work out 4-7 days a week, modified P90X stuff. Raw smoothies and Indian food.

Creativity: “Making something from nothing, that is creation”.  Journeys. How to expand them? Books, what’s the best way to publish these days? Speaking. Classes. To this end, I’m researching and editing stuff I’ve written, thinking about how to organize and modify the website.

Friends and loved ones (including the fur-kids):  Quality time with relationships.

Learning: Mah Jongg and Sacred Geometry (on going). Just found a new future-fascination: I want to learn the Lindy-Hop! I’m also fascinated with how people put their lives together via the internet. How do people logically link all their interests, personalities, businesses, etc. What can I learn from this?

Reading: Brandon Sanderson, Alice Dreger

Paying the bills: I am the Program Officer for the Newcombe Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship, and the Woodrow Wilson Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship in Women’s Studies. For the right opportunity, I could be enticed away.
