Today, like yesterday, is a preparation day. When you start any journey, you first do some things to get ready–like think about where you want to go, and how you might want to get there. In writing yesterday about why a Journey of Courage, we set the tone, and prepared our mind for what we think, or hope, to encounter on this Journey, like looking at the topography map of your mind. What do you think or feel about courage? What have you learned over your lifetime about courage? What kinds of conscious choices to you want to make from this point forward?

The commitment today serves as an agreement between you and yourself about what you are willing and able to do to see this Journey through to the end. Choose a commitment that you think you can keep: One day a week? Every other day? One day each round? Whatever you choose, please, I ask you: do it. Make the agreement with yourself. Keep the agreement with yourself. When you keep agreements with yourself, it teaches you that you are reliable, competent, trustworthy…and carries through on many different levels. This is about momentum and moving yourself forward in your spiritual growth.

The dedication for the Journey gives the Journey a purpose beyond you. The Journey is bigger than you are, so to say. Dedicate your Journey to one other person, to a greater purpose (“I dedicate this to the purpose of increasing my courage to demonstrate to others how to have more courage”) or to a Cause or Belief (like Love, or Oneness, or Harmony), or dedicate the Journey to God, the Divine, or to a Humanist ideal that you think would serve all of humanity. Write your own, or adapt what I have written below for yourself, in your voice, so that they feel right for you.

Commitment

I declare that I know my Divine Self is bigger than my fears. I know that I am connected with a Power greater than myself which flows through All, connecting each with ALL, and providing All Good to All, at all times. Thus when I am aware of, understand, and Know this Power through me, as me, I am able to walk in Peace and Harmony with All, approaching All with Love. I am committed to realizing this Power through me, as me, in every aspect of my life. To achieve this, I am committed to reading the Guiding Thought, each day, for the next 40 days, reflecting for a minimum of five minutes, then writing for a minimum of five minutes, the thoughts and reflections that come to me regarding the Guiding Thought (which will be published on this site).

Dedication

I dedicate all activity, energy, vibration, and movement of my physical body during each day of this Journey, during each meditation, each reflection, at all levels of consciousness to the Divine, for the benefit of all, including myself.

I dedicate all of the affects of the activity, energy, vibration, and movement of my physical body during each day of this Journey, during each meditation, each reflection, at all levels of consciousness to the Divine, for the benefit of all, including myself.

So let it be done.

Tomorrow the Journey begins! Thank you for joining me; we are so much better together ❤

2016 Journey of Healing Declaration,Commitment, and Dedication

Declaration

Today, I declare my intention to Know myself as Love, and to do whatever it takes to find and transmute the barriers I have created within myself to knowing myself as the Love I am. I declare myself free from imaginary bonds that would negate my Divine Self. I declare myself whole, holy, healthy, the abode of Love, the life of Love.

Commitment

First, I am committed to fulfilling 40 days of meditation/contemplation and writing with focus, engagement, and involvement in the exploration and discovery of my own healing.

Second, in my ongoing commitment to the enlightenment of everyone on the planet, I commit again to doing a daily prayer/mediation for the 7.125 billion people on the planet. Join me for this if you like with a simple prayer such as:

May forgiveness, healing, and freedom enter the minds and hearts of all beings, that we may all learn to use the light and love within us to the fullest, in the cause of Love and Freedom on earth. May all men, women, and children on earth know Love; enable each person to know that Love’s healing presence will always bring happiness, and release from anything that is not of the light. Enfold every person in the power of light, and transmute all imperfection in their lives through Divine Order, with Divine Love. (adapted from Patricia Cote Robles).

Third, I continue in my commitment to the practice of earth, and will continue to work out and eat “really” healthy.

Dedication

I dedicate this Journey to you and to your healing. May you know yourself as the Love you are; may all pain or suffering you experience be transmuted by Love, to Love. May you know yourself as vibrant, radiant health within and without.

Guiding Thought

Love is unconditional. I choose to be unconditionally devoted to the love which is unconditionally devoted to me. I embrace life in love as my True nature. Connected with All in Love, I stand boldly in my heart-center, unwavering in my dedication to Unity of Life in Love.

Sharing

I wonder what dedication is? I wonder how I know my level of dedication? How do I know if I am doing enough? How do I know when I am unconditionally devoted? What do I do if my dedication waivers?

These are not questions unique to this day, this Journey. These types of questions follow me like a shadow. I am always wondering what is “enough”, if I am doing “enough”, and how I know.

On the one hand, I tell myself we are Infinite Love, Ultimate Oneness, All that Is, connected with and expressing Infinite Source. Isn’t this what I aspire to?

[Ohhhh…. and there’s the skeptic:

But come on! No one is actually like that.

I love my skeptic, she’s so raw and real.]

On the other hand, we never really live up to that…in a sense, the skeptic is right. The difference is that the skeptic doesn’t see the possibility of achievement, the possibility of evolution and change. She just looks at what she sees and says, “Nope” while I look at Infinite Love and Oneness and say, “Working on it!”

So what do I do? It’s like I am always in the middle between wanting to be enough and knowing that I’m not…at least not yet. I’m always between yearning for something I know is possible with unwavering dedication to achieving it, while sitting here looking at myself and thinking, “That ain’t it, kid, that ain’t it.”

Just a few days ago, I wrote about balance, of finding the center within myself and having the courage to do so. This has been the first lesson so far on this Journey: striving but never feeling good enough for that which I am striving, finding the balance between these within myself. How is it productive, if I am always questioning and countering myself? Where is the balance between these?

The neat thing is an answer has already come. The answer is, “Do the best you can every moment. Just do that…then trust.” And the second part: “If you are not doing your best, or think you are not, forgive yourself and move on.”

Now, just to do it.
