From Becoming to Being and Being Back While still Becoming. -Healing (1.4.14)

Guiding Thought

To heal and be healed is to be aware, to understand, and to Know Wholeness.  Thus, seek Wholeness, Unity, Oneness within your own mind and heart, and in all your actions and affairs. Focus on uniting the fragments within yourself, so that you see only Oneness, which is the Truth of your Self. As you Know yourself as the Oneness you are, this Truth reflects in the world around you, confirming what you Know through your experience and life activity.

Reflection

There are three distinct parts to this Guiding Thought. 1) What “healing is” 2) Uniting fragments 3) the Truth reflected in the world.

Number one affirms the journey, the “becoming”, by using the words “to heal” and “healing–indicating that we are in this process. And it also affirms the destination (“being”), by intimating that the answers already exist in your own mind and heart.

And I might add… being (which can only exist here and now), as the destination, means you’ve already arrived. You know this: You already are what you seek. Seeking becomes the being seeking Itself while being.

Wait, what?

Let that stew a minute or two.

This brings us to number two, and why we do not realize that we already are what we seek. And that is because we do not see ourselves as Unified and Whole (healed); instead we distinguish “parts” of ourselves and separate those parts into “this” and “that” or “not this” or “not that”. It’s like looking at one puzzle piece one moment, identifying as that piece (“oh, I am RED; that’s what I AM” or “I am  BLUE, that is my identity; how could I have thought I was red?”), without understanding that there are all one picture, with various colors–all the time.

How, then, does one go about uniting the fragments?

Here are some ideas to answer this:

  1. Some people simply “wake up”. I think Eckhart Tolle is a good example of this: When Eckhart Tolle was 29, he says, he underwent a cataclysmic and terrifying spiritual experience that erased his former identity. One evening, he was a near-suicidal graduate student, living in a Belsize Park bedsit; by the following morning, he’d been flooded with a sense of “uninterrupted deep peace and bliss” that has never left him since. That morning, he writes, “I walked around the city in utter amazement at the miracle of life on earth, as if I had just been born.”
  2. Some people are born into it, for example Anandamayi Ma: “My consciousness has never associated itself with this temporary body. Before I came on this earth ‘I was the same’. As a little girl ‘I was the same’. Ever afterward, though the dance of creation change around me, in the hall of eternity ‘I shall be the same’.”
  3. Some people work at it. Lao Tzu comes to mind; he taught that living and practicing certain teachings can open you to higher wisdom and greater happiness, as they realign you to the source and enable you to access all the powers that source energy has to offer. (Emphasis mine, “realign” is another way of saying “unite”.) His teachings can be found in the Tao Te Ching.

In my humble opinion, working at it is the most practical approach (Journey, anyone!?). There are lots of ways, and lots of people to learn from, spiritual leaders and guides abound (check credentials, look for quality, follow your heart and higher Self).

Finally, there is number three: receiving affirmation of your Truth, and of unifying your fragments through your experiences in the world. This is a very rewarding place to be. From personal experience, I can confirm that life gets lighter, more joyous, with more confidence in being in the right place at the right time–not worrying so much about what will or should be.

Peace. Peace. Peace. May we all Know Peace in Unity.

The Journey is not What You Think: Journey of Freedom 2017–Day 16

Guiding Thought

Through your physical body, bring Divine Light and Love to the physical universe. Heal unresolved issues through loving thoughts, words, and emotions, and become lighter and brighter. Bring light to all you have denied and heal your past-present-future NOW. Every day you are lighter and lighter!

Reflection

I would like to acknowledge that with these Journeys, there is always more going on than you think. The Journeys appear to be very mental—the Guiding Thoughts are words that correspond to concepts which you then think about.

But as you are thinking, and exercising your mind, and asking yourself to understand, there is more going on under the surface.

Contemplation in this way is a spiritual practice. With spiritual practices, you engage a deeper part of yourself which is beyond words, beyond concepts, beyond understanding.

My point is:

  • Whatever you think you understand, there is always more to it.
  • If you think you don’t understand, a part of you really does.

Think of it this way:

The way you can go isn’t the real way.

The name you can say isn’t the real name.

Heaven and earth begin in the unnamed: name is the mother of ten thousand things.

So the unwanting soul sees what is hidden, and the ever-wanting soul sees what it wants.

Two things, one origin, but different in name, whose identity is mystery.

Mystery of All Mysteries! The door to the hidden.

Balance Off: Journey of Creation – Day 20

Guiding Thought

There are no degrees of Love. Love is Whole, Full, and Perfect. Love in action is Creation; Love’s creations are Whole, Full, and Perfect. When we express Love, we are being creative in the Truest sense. Creativity is Love in action, and produces activities, relationships, and experiences which are Whole, Full, and Perfect.

Reflection

I’ve been talking with people this week, who have used the terms yin and yang; since I do not generally use the terms yin and yang, this phenomenon is something to look at. And as everything is currently in the context of Journey of Creation, I am applying it to my own Journey.

Yin and yang is a symbol of forces, or energies. Yin means the shady, shadow, or dark side; yang is the sunny, bright, or light side. In addition to the two “sides”, you will notice through the picture on the left that there is symbolic movement between the two sides: light turns to dark, which returns to light. Neither side is ever complete of itself; each contains the other, and only together is there wholeness. Each side contains the other, moves into the other, and is complete only with the other.

Here is how Lao Tzu describes it in the Tao Te Ching:

“When people see things as beautiful,
ugliness is created.
When people see things as good,
evil is created.

Being and non-being produce each other.
Difficult and easy complement each other.
Long and short define each other.
High and low oppose each other.
Fore and aft follow each other.”

This past week, one of the ways that this concept has been discussed with me is in the context of balance: Yin and yang work together in balance, but we can disrupt that balance with too much or too little of either yin or yang.

What does all this mean to me, in the context of today’s Guiding Thought, and the Journey in general?

First, I feel like I am off-balance. I am experiencing something in either excess or as deficiency. How do I know? I feel foggy, fuzzy, unfocused, as though I cannot grasp my own thoughts. The Guiding Thought was mere words; I could not reach the inner depth or meaning of the words today.

Second, I have been doing some intentional cleansing and releasing (among other things, I have stopped coffee cold turkey–no wonder I feel fuzzy and foggy!). I’ve been working on physical improvements to my health and well-being, but (as you know), everything is connected, and I am experiencing mental and emotional side-effects (releases) as well.

All of this has been in the context of my own Journey of Creation. Nothing happens during a Journey that is not part of the Journey.

I believe that the off-balance is, in the bigger picture, getting me back on balance–the movement of yin and yang. I must re-balance what is either in excess or deficient, and I am experiencing that as fuzzy, foggy, and unfocused. A ripple in the water is only perceived as “more” until its motion stops and it again becomes still.

As for the cleansing and releasing: such things always have side effects. Toxins come to the surface for release, but when they come to the surface, I experience their effects. This goes for physical, mental, or emotional toxins. I feel that I am releasing, but going through the symptoms as the toxins leave.

As for how this all relates to Journey of Creation: I am making way for Truth and Love, and the experience of it in my life–getting rid of stuff that no longer serves me or my goals of co-creating with Love. Though I am a bit “off”, I am happily here, moving through, past, and onward!
